The first contest on the final day of the Preliminary Stage was charged with tension and rivalry, as Lawra SHS sought revenge against Nandom SHS for their earlier defeat in the Regional Qualifiers. Lawra SHS advanced to the Preliminary Stage of the 2025 National Championship as one of the top runners-up. The competition featured Nandom SHS, Accra High School, and Lawra SHS, and it was a roller coaster of emotions as fluctuating scores kept the audience on edge.

The contest started on a calm and relaxed note. However, the tension between the two schools could be felt, keeping their supporters at the edge of their seats. Each question and answer heightened the intensity in the auditorium.
At the end of the first round, Nandom SHS took the lead with 16 points, while Accra High School and Lawra SHS were tied at nine points each.

In Round Two, the “Trustur AI Speed Race,” the pace and competition intensified among the schools. By the end of the round, Accra High School had scored 18 points, Lawra SHS followed closely with 16 points, while Nandom SHS fell behind with 15 points. At this point, the competition promised to be full of twists and unexpected turns.
At the end of Round Three, the “Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day,” Accra High School and Lawra SHS tied with two points each, while Nandom SHS scored no points out of 10.
Before the start of Round Four, the “Jupay Money Transfer True/False,” Vincent was brought in to substitute Ebenezer, both of Accra High School. Each school performed impressively well. At the end of the round, Accra High School dominated with 33 points, Lawra SHS followed closely with 31 points, while Nandom SHS secured 28 points.
With scores so close, each school sat on edge, awaiting the final round that would decide their fate in this contest, whether they would make it to the One-eighth Stage or not.

In the fifth and final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, emotions ran high. A wrong answer from Accra High School drew sighs of disappointment among their supporters, but hope lingered for the final riddle.
At last, Accra High answered the final riddle correctly and secured victory. They lifted their hands in prayer and celebrated their qualification to the One-eighth Stage with 39 points.
For Accra High School, this triumph felt more like redemption for last year’s Preliminary Stage loss to St. John’s Grammar than it did for Lawra SHS against Nandom SHS.
