Following their elimination by Kumasi Academy during the One-eighth Stage of the 2020 National Science & Maths Quiz competition, Mfanstimpim School returned with renewed determination to reclaim their glory in the 2023 edition of the NSMQ. At the Prelims, Kumasi Academy outperformed SIMMS, securing 50 points, while Mamfe Methodist Girls progressed to the One-eighth Stage through the top runners-up ticket. Mfantsipim on the other hand was among the seeded schools. In the end, Mfantsipim proudly restored their standing by qualifying for the Quarter-final Stage with an impressive score of 55 points. They also won the Goil Riddle Bonanza prize of GHS1,200.00 for answering three Riddles correctly.

When the BOTWE Boys took back their glory from the KUMACANS

The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off, on October 6, 2023. As an exciting highlight of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, this year's NSMQ is being hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. This historic occurrence represents the first time the National Championship spans across two regions. KNUST serves as the venue for the Preliminary four stages of the competition, with the Grand Finale scheduled to captivate audiences at the National Theatre.

The disappointed faces of Kumasi Academy after failing to qualify to the Quarter-finals

Mfantsipim School was eliminated from the One-eighth stage of the competition by Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. KUMACA secured 53 points, while Mfantsipim scored 35 points, and St Mary's SHS scored 30 points. However, in their quest to reclaim their lost glory from KUMACA, Mfantsipim made a strong comeback and won with a narrow margin, earning 55 points in the NSMQ 2023 and qualifying with honor to the Quarterfinal Stage of the NSMQ 2023. We look forward to seamless replication of this feat in their Semi-final Stage Qualification contest.
