Girl Power in Full Display! St. Mary’s SHS Makes Triumphant Comeback with Flawless Performance!

It was a dazzling display of brilliance, confidence, and pure girl power as St. Mary’s Senior High School, triumphed over Kadjebi Asato SHS and Krachi SHS, storming their way into the One-eighth Stage of the National Science & Maths Quiz.

The contest began on a high note as the girls of St. Mary’s took the stage, introducing themselves with infectious energy and confidence that sent cheers echoing across the packed auditorium. Their poise said it all, they were here not just to compete, but to conquer.

From the very first round, St. Mary’s SHS set the tone. Their flair, knowledge, and composure left no doubt that they had come fully prepared. Each time another school faltered, the girls pounced on the opportunity, answering with precision and earning extra points with ease. The audience erupted with every correct answer, their cheers turning the hall into a sea of excitement.

By the end of the first round, St. Mary’s SHS had established an early lead with 14 points, while Kadjebi Asato SHS followed with six points and Krachi SHS trailed with three points.

Then came Round Two, the “Trustur AI Speed Race.” This was where speed met strategy, and tension filled the air. Kadjebi Asato SHS put up a brave fight, but the St. Mary’s girls were unstoppable, swift, sharp, and accurate. They ended the round with 20 points, leaving Kadjebi Asato SHS with 12 points and Krachi SHS struggling at negative one point after a series of missed answers.

In Round Three, the “Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star” Problem of the Day, St. Mary’s SHS demonstrated their brilliance once again. Through flawless teamwork and clear reasoning, they achieved a perfect score of 10 points, earning the title and a cash prize of GH¢2,000. Krachi SHS followed with six points, while Kadjebi Asato SHS managed one point.

Before Round Four, the “Jupay Money Transfer True/False” round, St. Mary’s made a tactical substitution, Christabel stepped in for Benita, while Krachi SHS brought in Barnabas to replace Aminu. The substitution paid off handsomely for St. Mary’s as Christabel dazzled with precision, answering True or False statements with remarkable accuracy.

However, the round wasn’t without its tense moments. Gasps of “Eii! Eii! Eii!” echoed through the hall as Krachi SHS stumbled on several questions. Still, their final moment of redemption came when Barnabas correctly answered the last question, drawing applause from the audience.

At the end of the round, St. Mary’s SHS soared to 43 points, widening the gap as Kadjebi Asato SHS followed with 29 points and Krachi SHS managed six points.

The stage was set for the ultimate showdown, Round Five, the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza”. Anticipation filled the air as supporters of St. Mary’s whispered silent prayers and chants of encouragement. The girls kept their composure, solved the riddles with precision, and, as their fans had hoped, claimed victory along with the ₵800 award.

When the final scores were announced, the hall erupted in jubilation. St. Mary’s SHS sealed their victory with an impressive 52 points, not only qualifying for the One-eighth Stage, but also making a stunning comeback after last year’s Preliminary Stage exit.
